The weather has kept the other artists from converging, but it is time to call a winner. The Booby Prize goes to...(drumroll)...Mom!! "Starry Tropical Boob Lady" gathered the most votes, beating out Craig's "Lifelike/Surgically Enhanced" nude by a narrow margin.

oh yes, mom, you are the proud recipient of this trophy!!

Portrait #1, painted by yours truly, was quickly dubbed a 'blow up doll.' Thanks to the three people who voted for that one. I am still happy with my work.

Needing something to stimulate our creative juices, my two favorite artists and myself entered into a challenge. To win the award, we were tasked with painting a nude. The only rules were that you had to work from memory (i.e. no models) and the end result couldn't look like anyone we know.

How would one win was the next question. To that end, we pose the question to you. Please vote for your favorite and have fun guessing if the artist was Audrey, Craig, or Nancy! The voting will stay open through next Wednesday and the winner will be listed here the next day.

Because I am not too techno-savvy and I am kinda pressed for time, the voting will be handled strictly through the comments section of this post. Simple enough. You post a comment, and I will leave the comments open through Wednesday, April 21. At that point, the painting with the most votes wins.

So y'all may love my silly doodlings and all, but the one with the real talent in the family is my brother Craig. Craig has a fixation on and a talent for painting Jimi Hendrix. Aren't these awesome? Craig had the audacity recently to tell me that he was jealous of my talent. He likes to mess with me that way.

Here's what he's working on now. Obviously, its for money. We don't go around painting LSU symbols for fun! (Even still...the talent!!)

Hmmmm......Cute! The only hangup is the accent in the Lines painting is brown and in Fish is black.

I guess it wasn't meant to be. But cute!

I probably need lots of therapy. What I've found lately is that painting in some form is really an outlet for me. I can completely focus on one thing for a brief period of time and tune everything else out. Lately, I've been on a streak of painting really random pictures, and my craft studio/ironing board is filling up. So, I'm sharing them with you. Welcome to the grand opening of my gallery.

But, why is the iron still there?

So, what else do you need to know? I did not take Art Appreciation in college. I satisfied that elective with History and Appreciation for the Artcraft, which I never realized until this very moment, probably really speaks volumes for the kind of art I like and the kind of art I do. (Even as I type that, I am smirking at myself.)
