Guest Artist: Craig

So y'all may love my silly doodlings and all, but the one with the real talent in the family is my brother Craig. Craig has a fixation on and a talent for painting Jimi Hendrix. Aren't these awesome? Craig had the audacity recently to tell me that he was jealous of my talent. He likes to mess with me that way.

Here's what he's working on now. Obviously, its for money. We don't go around painting LSU symbols for fun! (Even still...the talent!!)

Spooky

Halloween Art. The kids are most concerned with the fact that the cat is missing a mouth. I like it that way, though. Keeps it mysterious.

Starfish

This was an existing painting of mine that I decided to paint over a little bit...trying out some starfish. I might like it more with a different color scheme...

Mix & Match

I painted this for my mom, and this post was originally to be titled 'Fish Fish I Got My Wish' until I realized...

Hey, I've seen this color scheme before!
Hmmmm......Cute! The only hangup is the accent in the Lines painting is brown and in Fish is black.
I guess it wasn't meant to be. But cute!

Catolico

I think this one has a mexican-y, street festival kind of look.

Finger Painting

Simplistic? Maybe. Therapeutic? Absolutely. The cat reminds me of Our Lady of Guadalupe. So, maybe a little sacrilegious as well.

Inaugural

I probably need lots of therapy. What I've found lately is that painting in some form is really an outlet for me. I can completely focus on one thing for a brief period of time and tune everything else out. Lately, I've been on a streak of painting really random pictures, and my craft studio/ironing board is filling up. So, I'm sharing them with you. Welcome to the grand opening of my gallery.

But, why is the iron still there?

So, what else do you need to know? I did not take Art Appreciation in college. I satisfied that elective with History and Appreciation for the Artcraft, which I never realized until this very moment, probably really speaks volumes for the kind of art I like and the kind of art I do. (Even as I type that, I am smirking at myself.)
